Career goals are manifested in the need to meet a person wishes to have a specific job, take a definite step in the hierarchical ladder positions. Objectives rights in choosing a career are focused on the fact that:
- engage in activity or hold the position that corresponds to self-esteem and thus gives moral satisfaction;
- get a job or position, which corresponds to self-assessment, terrain, natural conditions which are beneficial to health and can organize a good rest;
- hold jobs or positions which are creative in nature, can achieve a certain degree of independence;
- have a job or position that pays or allows at the same time side income or to continue active learning.

Career objectives change with age as well as to the extent of how man is changing with the training and employment. The formation of career goals is an ongoing process.

When planning career you should observe the following principles:
- performance of a work;
- competence of potential employees;
- ability to organize well the formal side of things;
- reward skills;
- general ability.
